How to make a "milk bath"
I am about a year late for this but you know whatever. For Elliott’s six month photos we celebrated breastfeeding with a milk bath photo shoot. I searched high and low for a “good” recipe for the milk bath. Let’s be honest if you want to use ALL breast milk you will legit need over 500 ounces and I was NOT trying to waste that much! So I had about 90 ounces of breastmilk that was considered “boozy” milk from vacation. So I used that as our starter and it felt somewhat sentimental that he was swimming in my boozy Puerto Rico breastmilk. Then from there I did about two gallons of just regular ol’ 2% white milk. Even then I had a ways to go to fill up our tub. So in order to not completely freeze Elliott we used warm tap water to fill it the rest of the way up. I think the consistency we used was perfect. It still was a milky color but not stark white either. Since this was a little boy milk bath I went with a box of fruit loops to spice it up! The tub that we used was our photographers but if you need one you can easily go to a farm supply store, purchase a metal bucket and bleach the outside of the bucket to give it the rustic look/feel that you want.
Coincidently the day we took all of his milk bath photos was the day we shot all of our pictures for my blog homepage. It has been quite the journey but I am having so much fun!
